10 Useless Matters.. Waisting the heart by preferring this wordly life over the Hereafter!

Allah said:

إِنَّمَا الحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ

"The life of this world is but play and pastime"

{Muhammad S:47-V:36)

1. Knowledge that is not acted on.

2. The deed that has neither sincerity nor is based on following the righteous examples of others.

3. Money that is hoarded, as the owner neither enjoys it during this life nor obtains any reward for it in the Hereafter.

4. The heart that is empty of love and longing for Allah, and ofseeking closeness to Him.

5. A body that does not obey and serve Allah.

6. Loving Allah without following His orders or seeking His pleasure.

7. Time that is not spent in expiating sins or seizing opportunities to do good.

8. A mind that thinks about useless matters.

9. Serving those who do not bring you close to Allah, nor benefit you in your life.

10. Hoping and fearing whoever is under the authority of Allah and in His hand; while he cannot bring any benefit or harm to himself, nor death, nor life; nor can he resurrect himself.

However the greater of these matters are waisting the heart and waisting time. Waisting the heart is done by preferring this worldly life over the Hereafter, and wasting time is done by having incessant hope.

Destruction occurs by following one's desires and having incessant hope, while all goodness is found in following the right path and preparing oneself to meet Allah.

How strange it is that when a servant of Allah has a [worldly] problem, he seeks help of Allah, but he never asks Allah to cure his heart before it dies of ignorance, neglect, fulfilling one's desires and being involved in innovations. Indeed, when the heart dies, he will never feel the significance or impact of his sins.

An Abandoned Sunnah – During the Last Ten Days of Ramadan

عائشة : كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم إذا كان رمضان قام و نام فإذا دخل العشر شد المئزر و اجتنب النساء و اغتسل بين الأذانين و جعل العشاء سحورا

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said ,” That during Ramadan Allah’s messenger (Sallahu ‘Alaihiwassalam) would sleep , wake up and pray. However when the last ten days came he would burn the midnight oil, avoid relations with his wives, perform a Ghusl between Maghrib and Isha and have dinner at the time of Sahur.”

Collected by : Ibn Abee ‘Asim. Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali (795 H ) graded the isnad for this hadeeth as being Hasan.

Points of Benefit:

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali mentioned his book “Taif Al-Muarif” that performing Ghusl between Maghrib and Isha is a Sunnah to be performed during the last ten days of Ramadan.

Ibn Jarir said about this hadeeth, “ The Salaf used to considered it Sunnah to take Ghusl every night during the last ten days of Ramadan .

An-Nakhaee used to wash every night, while others used to wash and dab cologne on their bodies on the night they hoped was Laylutul Qadr.

It has been reported that Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) on the 24th night of Ramadan took a bath, put on some nice fragrance, and wore his best izar.

The next morning he took it off, folded it up and didn’t wear it again until next Ramadan on the same occasion.

Ayyub As-Sakhtayanni (may Allah be pleased with him) used to bathe on the 23rd and 24th night , wear new clothes and burn incense to perfume his clothes.

Hamad ibn Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “ Thabit Bananee and Humayd At-Tawheel used to wear their best clothes, best fragrance and burn incense and spray aroma in the Masjid during the night in which the hoped to be Laylutul Qadr.

Tameem Ad-Daree (may Allah be pleased with him) bought an Izar for 1,000 Dirhams. He used to wear it on the night in which he anticipated was Laylutul Qadr.

Ibn Jarir-said,” Therefore based on these acts from the Salaf, it establishes that it is recommended for the night in which a person thinks is Layultul Qadr to dress up, wear nice fragrance, and take a bath. This is similar to the Sunnah for Jumu’ah and both Eed.

Short Advice on Ramadaan

All praise is for Allâh, the Lord of the Heavens and the Earths and peace and blessings be on His Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, whom Allâh sent as a Mercy to the world and made him the guide for His creatures.
The Messenger of Allâh sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam was sent as a guide and as a leader to humanity. He guided us to believe in the Oneness of Allâh and ordered us to obey the Commands of Allâh and accept him as the last and final Messenger sent to mankind. Eeman and Islâm represent these two Beliefs.
We Muslims are approaching the blessed days of Ramadhan; we must work hard to please Allâh in these virtuous days of Ramadhan, whilst following the Commands of Allâh and obeying His Messenger sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam.
We should also keep in mind that the worship we undertake in this month is not an easy task to accomplish. In the hot and long days of Ramadhan, we keep ourselves hungry and thirsty from dawn to dusk, hold back our desires and avoid even those matters, which Allâh has made Halaal in the common days. Then in this situation, we accomplish our daily works and spend the day according to the Commands of Allâh. In the evening, after the Suhoor, we await the night not to slip into the bed and rest, but to make the Qiyaam and listen to the Book of Allâh; we thank Allâh and make sujoods unto Him. Then we await the call of adhaan to initiate the great act of worship once again.
All this hard work is done only to please Allâh and with the hope that this act would become a means to our salvation. Indeed, many people put together hard efforts in the month of Ramadhan, BUT who is the one, whose worship will truly benefit him on the Day of Resurrection and protect him from the severe punishments and trials of that Day?
He is the one, who believes in the Oneness of Allâh and does not associate partners with Him, and performs all his worships according to the guidance of Allâh's Messenger, because Allâh says:
"Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allâh, then Allâh has forbidden Paradise for him, and Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheist and wrong-doers) there are no helpers." [(5): 72]
This was also what Allâh warned his Messengers with, He said:
"But if they had joined in worship others with Allâh, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them." [(6): 88]
Similarly, if one performs all his worship with full sincerity but does not abide by the guidance with which the Messenger of Allâh came, then all his worship will become invalid and be of no benefit on the Day of Judgement. Allâh says:
"O you who believe! Obey Allâh and Obey the Messenger and make not vain your deeds." [Soorah Muhammad (47): 33]
We ask Allâh to make all our worships sincerely for His Face and make us strong adherents to the guidance of Allâh's Messenger.

Alhamdulilah ramadan is going great, in sha'Allah i pray it goes the same for everyone around the dunya. subhana'Allah time is flying its already 6th Aug, we have to treat every second like a golden treasure and maximise our ibadah. I have to go make some afur/iftar for the family now.

There is no problem in greeting one another at the beginning of the month Ramadaan because the Prophet (peace and blessings be with him) would give glad tidings to his companions (may Allaah be pleased with them all) at the advent of the month of Ramadaan. He would urge them to strive in this month with performing righteous deeds. And truly Allaah has said:

{Say: "In the Bounty of Allaah and in His Mercy (i.e. Islaam and the Quraan); -therein let them rejoice." That is better than what (the wealth) they amass.} [Younus: 58]

Therefore greeting one another in this month and to be joyful at the advent of this month both demonstrate the keenness for (doing) good.

The Salaf would give glad tidings to one another at the advent of the month of Ramadaan following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be with him) just as was reported in the lengthy Hadeeth of Salmaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) regarding this, that the Prophet rightfully stated:

“Oh People! Indeed you have been approached by a magnificent blessed month…”

Practical Way To Benefit From Ramadhaan

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful.
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, his Companions and his family members and all those who follow them until the Last Day.

The following post is based on the notes from the lecture of Br. Mustafa George (Biography of Br. Mustafa George) that he gave Saturday Aug. 16th at Masjid Rahmah, Newark NJ. The topic of the lecture was “How to Benefit from Ramadhaan Practically”

Practically benefitting from Ramadhaan should be divided into 2 Categories:

Goals and Preparations

Each person should make goals that he wants to achieve in the month of Ramadhaan. The following are just examples and they should be modified according to the person’s abilities and circumstances.

Here are some examples:

1) I want to finish the Qur’aan from cover to cover 1 time, or 2 times, or 5 times, etc.

2) I want to start Riyaad us-Saaliheen with my family, or I want to start teaching my family from Kitaab at-Tawheed or other beneficial books.

3) For the sister – I want to fix that which is between me and my sister.

4) I want to start praying Tahajjud regularly in Ramadhaan and continue after Ramadhaan

5) I want to memorize some dua’s from the Sunnah which I can continue saying even after Ramadhaan.

Each person should make a daily planner for Ramadhaan.

- If the person prays fajr at home, then he should pray in congregation in the month of Ramadhaan.

- Then after coming home, let him sit down with his family, either his wife and kids or with his parents and siblings and read the Qur’aan together. So each person reads one page or two pages.

- Then when the brother has to go to work, instead of listening to 1010 news station or some other radio channel that he usually listens to, he buys some beneficial lectures and listens to those while going to work and coming back. Its best if he listens to a series of lectures for example on ‘Aqeedah or the Correct Manhaj.

- At work, during his lunch time, he reads the Qur’aan or memorizes some du’as from the Sunnah which he is not familiar with.

The person can also tell his co-workers that this is the month of Ramadhaan, so please do not curse around me. Do not make too many jokes around me. Do not listen to music at your desks when I am around, etc.

- Then when he is coming back home, similarly, he listens to the Qur’aan or listens to some beneficial lectures to use that time wisely in Ramadhaan. (Note: Even though, this should be done outside of Ramadhaan as well because free time is a blessing from Allah. It should be used for the worship of Allah or in doing actions which will increase us in knowledge of the religion and help us to do righteous actions.)

- When he gets home, he can take a short nap and ask his wife or family members to wake him up in half an hour or 45 mins. Its important that we don’t sleep the whole time from ‘asr till maghrib so as to make use of this time with our families inshaAllah.

- After getting up, he again reads the Qur’aan with his family or if he wants to read Qur’aan in the morning and a beneficial book like Riyaad us-Saaliheen in the evening, then he does that. So if he reads Riyaad us-Saaliheen for example, each person can read a few ahaadeeths and then you ask everyone, “What did you benefit from that hadith?”

This questioning is done as a way of teaching and this was also the way of Prophet Muhammad sallalahu ‘alayhe wasallam with his Companions.

It will also make everyone think about some of the benefits that can be derived from the ahaadith which were read. And other people can add other benefits which they thought of to make this more fruitful inshaAllah.

- At iftaar time, the parents can ask their kids to bring over their friends for iftaar. This will achieve several things bi’idhnillah.

1) You will gain the reward of providing food for the ones who are fasting

2) The parents will be able to know who your kids keep company with (i.e. who are their friends)

3) It can be said to the kids, “Let’s sit together since this is the month of Ramadhaan and read a book on fasting or any other beneficial book, or some ahaadiths”

This will motivate the kids to take this idea to their parents so they can implement it in their households as well. This will earn the parents the reward of helping others onto something good and earn a copy of their good deeds without their deeds being diminished in any way.

- Or one day, the husband can bring over the brothers for iftaar. Instead of talking about the normal things that brothers talk about when they get together, it can be said to them, “Since this is the month of Ramadhaan, let’s sit down and read a few ahaadiths so that we get some benefit from the time”

Similarly here, they might take this idea to their households and start implementing this also so you can bring some goodness to others by encouraging them to get some benefit from the time.

- Likewise, one day, the wife can bring over the sisters for iftaar and also encourage them to read from a book instead of talking about whatever the sisters talk about normally.

- Then comes time for taraweeh. If the family is accustomed to praying taraweeh at home, then they take the initiative to go and pray in the masjid. And its important to the take the whole family to the masjid so everyone realizes that this is the month of Ramadhaan where we have to do extra worship to get closer to Allah and one of those extra acts of worship is praying Taraweeh.

It is important to note here that many Muslims don’t understand that worship falls into different categories. For example, there are those acts of worship which are obligatory, such as praying 5 times a day and then those which are recommended (i.e. Sunnah in the fiqh sense of the word) such as Taraweeh.

Its particularly sad to see that many of the Muslims neglect the obligatory duties such as praying in congregation for the men but they feel like they have fallen short if they don’t pray taraweeh in the month of Ramadhaan. Even though its good to see that the Muslims have zeal in the month of Ramadhaan to pray taraweeh, we need to understand that praying in congregation for the men inside and outside the month of Ramadhaan is more important and has a greater reward than praying Taraweeh. And Allah Knows Best.

- Then after Taraweeh, you come home and this is the time now when you need to work on our personal connection with Allah.

Think, o Slave of Allah, of the many blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you.

Has He not guided you to the Sunnah and has made your feet firm upon it?

Has He not chosen for you Islaam, out of so many people who are still wandering in the darkness of disbelief?

Why did Allah choose you? When in fact, He is in no need of your worship. So remind yourself that this guidance is a blessing from Allah and its a gift that He bestows upon whomever He wills.

Remind yourself that Allah has chosen for you the path of knowledge, such that He has placed the love of following the Qur’aan and the Sunnah according to the way of the Sahabah in your heart. Is this not a blessing from your Lord upon you?

Remind yourself that it could be that He wishes for the path of Jannah to become easy for you so He has made the path of knowledge open for you.

Remind yourself of all the blessings that He has given you in terms of good health.

- Then you should get some rest so that it becomes easy for you to wake up for Tahajjud inshaAllah later on in the night.

- For the last 10 nights of Ramadhaan, its a good idea to make a list of things that you want in the dunya and in the Next life. And then ask Allah for those things. Indeed, He gives without any measures. Keep in mind the hadith of the Messenger of Allah sallalahu ‘alayhe wasallam:

It was relayed on the authority of Abu Dhar al-Ghifari, radiyallahu ‘anhu, that the Prophet,sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said, of waht he related from his Lord, magnified and exhalted be He, Who said:

O My servants, even if the first amongst you and the last amongst you and the whole human race of yours and that of Jinns gather together on a sector of land and all ask of Me and if I were to give everyone of them what they asked, that will not in any way decrease what I have anymore than a needle decreases what is in the ocean when it is put into it. (Taken from Nawawi Hadith 24)

And you continue to follow this throughout the month of Ramadhaan so that Your Day in Ramadhaan is not Like the Day when you are Not Fasting.

Aside from that, there are many small and easy things which all of us can do to get more rewards in the month of Ramadhaan. Here are a few:

Buy a few pack of water bottles and put them in the masjid so the people can have water to drink during Taraweeh
Buy some tissues and leave them in the prayer area.
Sponsor an iftaar at the masjid for the people
Help out in setting up the iftaar in the masjid
Come early and clean the masjid so the people come to a masjid which looks very clean
Buy some air freshners and leave them to be used in the masjid
Buy some burning incense to be used during Taraweeh
Give rides to those who don’t have a means of transportation to the masjid for Taraweeh
At the MSA’s, sponsor and arrange iftaars for the Muslim brothers and sisters in college
Buy 30 or 40 copies of the Qur’aan and place them in the masjid for people to read during Ramadhaan

So there are many easy things that each one of us can do which we have the capability of doing in the month of Ramadhaan to achieve more good deeds for the sake of Allah alone.

Subhana'Allah, I can almost smell the blessing of Ramadan. I'm soo excited, dont even have the words to describe the feeling.Ramadan is Monday 1st Aug in'Sha Allah (Tarawih Tomorrow yay) May Allah make it easy for us to achieve all our goals this blessed ramadan 2011, Amiiiin. Ramadan is the best month in boosting our Imans through Ibadah ( worship) and gaining the Pleasure of Allah. The month of the Qur'an, its the month of spending 99% of your time with the Book of Allah full of Guidance!!

I really missed blogging i have been busy lately with Ramadan prep. in sha Allah For the Sake of Allah i will try my to post more beneficial posts for us all to benefit,

A Cry for Help - Turn to Repentance

Shaykh Ibn Baaz ,

Al-Istiqaamah Magazine, Issue No.6 - Dhul-Qa'dah 1417H / March 1997

[Q]: I am a young man, nineteen years of age, and have involved myself in a great deal of sin. Even to the extent that I do not pray most of my Prayers in the mosque, and I have never completely fasted the month of Ramadaan in my entire life. Besides these, I have committed other sins as well. I have vowed to repent many times before, however, after doing so I lapse back into these same sins. The youths of my area are just as bad, as are the friends that I associate with. And Allaah knows that I have transgressed against myself and that whenever I repent, I return back to the same sins. I hope that you may direct me to a path that will bring me closer to my Lord and distance me from these evil actions of mine.
[A]: Allaah - the Might and Majestic - says: "Say O My Slaves who have transgressed against their own souls! Do not despair of Allaah's mercy. Indeed Allaah forgives all sins, Truly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Soorah az-Zumar 39:53]. There is a consensus from the Scholars that this noble aayah (verse) was revealed for the taa'ibeen (those who repent). So whoever sincerely repents from his sins, then Allaah will forgive him all his sins, as occurs in the saving of Allaah - the Most Perfect - : "O you who Believe! Turn to Allaah in sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord may remove from you your sins and admit you into Paradise beneath which rivers flow." [Soorah at-Tahreem 66:8]. So in this aayah (verse), Allaah has made the removal of sins and entry into Paradise dependant upon sincere repentance.
And sincere repentance is conditional upon: [i] abandoning the sin and keeping away from it, [ii] having regret and remorse for committing the sin, [iii] truly intending not to commit the sin again, [iv] remembering the greatness of Allaah and hoping for His reward, whilst fearing His punishment. Another condition for sincere repentance is that if due to transgression, the wealth or property of someone has been stolen or usurped, then it must be returned or forgiveness must be sought from the one whose wealth, blood or honour has been taken. However, if the honour of a person has been violated and the situation is such that it is not possible to seek that persons forgiveness, then plenty of du'aa (supplication) should be made for his welfare and he should be spoken good of in those places where he had previously been backbitten, since good deeds wipe away bad ones. Allaah - the Most Perfect - said: "Turn you all in repentance to Allaah, O Believers, in order that you may be successful." [Soorah an-Noor 24:31]. So in this aayah (verse) Allaah the Mighty and Majestic - linked success with tawbah (repentance) and points to the fact that the repentant person will reach success and happiness, and if such a person were to follow up this repentance with eemaan (faith) and doing righteous actions, then Allaah would efface his evil actions and change them to good actions, as Allaah the Most Perfect - said after mentioning the sins of Shirk (directing worship that is due only for Allaah to other than Allaah), taking a life without just cause and fornication and adultery-: "And whoever does this, will receive the punishment, The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Judgement and he will live therein in disgrace. Except for those who repent, have eemaan (faith) and do righteous actions. For them Allaah will change their evil deeds into good ones, and Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Soorah al-Furqaan 25:68-70]
And from the causes of tawbah (repentance) are humility and submissiveness to Allaah - the Most Perfect - and asking Allaah for guidance and ability, and that acceptance of one's repentance is considered as a Favour from Allaah, as Allaah - the Most Perfect - said: ''Call upon Me and I will respond to your supplication." [Soorah Ghaafir 40:60] And He - the Mighty and Majestic - said: "And when My servant asks you concerning Me, say to them that I am indeed near, And I respond to the supplication of the one who supplicates to Me." [Soorah al-Baqarah 2:186]. Also, from the causes of tawbah is choosing good companionship and friendship and following them in righteous conduct, whilst staying clear of bad companionship. It is authentically related from Allaah's Messenger sallaallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam that he said: "A person is upon the way of life of his friend, so let one of you look to whom he keeps as a friend."2 And the Prophet sallaallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam also said: "The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of a seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows. As for the seller of musk, then either he will grant you some, or at the very least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows, then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him."3

Seeking Knowledge

The way to seek knowledge

Question: Briefly, what is the way to seek knowledge, and may Allaah reward you with good?

Response: Briefly, in point form, the way to seek knowledge (is as follows):

1) Take care to memorise the Book of Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala) and allocate some time every day to memorise and read, such that your recitation is with reflection and understanding. And if you come across a beneficial point whilst reading, then make a note of it;

2) Take care to memorise that which is easy (for you) from the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) and from that (I recommend) memorising (the book) «'Umdatul-Ahkaam»;

3) Take care in concentrating and confirming (whilst seeking knowledge) such that you do not take a little knowledge from here and a little from there. This is because this wastes your time and (unnecessarily) busies your mind;

4) Start with the smaller books and study them well, then move on to that which is above this (in level) until you obtain knowledge little by little in a manner which makes firm (the knowledge) in your heart and to that which you are at peace (comfortable) with;

5) Take care to understand the fundamental issues, their rules and the limits of all that passes by you, as it has been said:

«Whoever does not take care to learn the fundamentals/principles, then he has prevented (himself) from arriving at the conclusion/goal»;

6) Discuss issues with your Shaykh or someone who is known for his knowledge and (practise of the) religion based upon the conditions you know. (Even if you are mentally able to discuss the issue).

A man went to Ibn ‘Abbas radiAllaahu ‘anhu and said, “O Ibn ‘Abbas, I want to enjoin people to do good and forbid them from doing evil.” Ibn ‘Abbas said, “And have you reached that level?” He said, “I hope that that is so.” He said, “If you do not fear to be exposed by three verses of Allah’s Book, then do so.” The man asked, “And what are they?” He mentioned this verse:

Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allâh) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves.” (Baqarah 2:44)

And then asked, “Have you applied the implications of this verse?” He said, “No.” Ibn ‘Abbas then mentioned the second verse:

O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allâh that you say that which you do not do. (As-Saff 61:2-3)

After that he asked, “Have you applied the implications of this verse?” He said, “No.” He then mentioned the third verse regarding Shu’aib alayhi salaam:

“I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you.” (Hud 11:88)

And then he asked, “Have you applied the implications of this verse? He said, “No.” Ibn ‘Abbas said, “Then begin with yourself.”

Seven Persons in Allah Ta'ala's shade on the day of judgement

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): The Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihe Wassalam)) said:

"Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. These seven persons are:
1) A just ruler,
2) A youth who has been brought up in the worship of Allah (i.e. worships Allah sincerely from childhood),
3) A man whose heart is attached to the mosques (i.e. to pray the compulsory prayers in the mosque in congregation),
4) Two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only,
5) A man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for illicit intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah,
6) A man who gives charitable gifts so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity),
7) And a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes are then flooded with tears."

Ibn al-Qayyim said regards to the description of the Paradise and the delights that it contains:

"And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and saffron.

And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers, then there are rivers of milk who's taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is Tasneem, ginger, and Kaafoor.

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like a concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in buildings that have rivers running underneath them.

And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky, then look at the shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of silk and gold.

And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest silk laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty, then they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years in the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing of their wives from among the Hoor al-'Ayn, and better than that are the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and (matured) and have had the liquid of youth flow through their limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it, light shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her love, then say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights; he sees his face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking into a polished mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her muscles and bones; if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she would fill what is between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful wind, and the mouths of the creation would glorifiy, praise, and exclaim greatness, and everything between the East and the West would be adorned for her, and every eye would be shut from everthing but her, and the light of the Sun would be outshone just as the light of the Sun outshines the light of the stars, and everyone on the face of the Earth would believe in the Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and Protects all the exists.

And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from saliva, urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his desire, and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has touched her before of either humans or Jinn.

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face - free from any resemblance or likeness to anything - as you see the Sun in the middle of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the day that the caller will call: 'O People of Paradise! Your Lord - Blessed and Exalted - requests you to visit Him, so come to visit Him!' So they will say: 'We hear and obey!'

Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all meet - and none of them will turn down the request of the caller - the Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will order His Chair to be brought there. Then, pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls, gemstone, gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on sheets of musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs above them are given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting and are secure in their places, and the caller calls: 'O People of Paradise! You have an appointment with Allaah in which He wishes to reward you!' So they will say: 'And what is that reward? Has He not already made our faces bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into Paradise, and pushed us away from the Fire?'

And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold: the Compeller - Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names - has come to them from above them and majestified them and said: 'O People of Paradise! Peace be upon you!' So, this greeting will not be responded to with anything better than: 'O Allaah! You are Peace, and from You is Peace! Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!' So the Lord - Blessed and Exalted - will laugh to them and say: 'O People of Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen Me? This is the Day of Increase!'

So, they will all give the same response: 'We are pleased, so be pleased with us!' So, He will say: 'O People of Paradise! If I were not pleased with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My Paradise! So, ask of Me!' So, they will all give the same response: 'Show us your Face so that we may look at it!' So, the Lord - Mighty and Majestic - will remove his covering and will majestify them and will cover them with His Light, which, if Allaah - the Exalted - had not Willed not to burn them, would have burned them.

And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except that his Lord - the Exalted - will speak to him and say: 'Do you remember the day that you did this and that?'and He will remind him of some of his bad deeds in the Worldy life, so he will say: 'O Lord! Will you not forgive me?' So, He will say: 'Of course! You have not reached this position of yours (in Paradise) except by my forgiveness.'

So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife...

Why should I wear the Hijaab?

Why should I wear the Hijaab? An oft-asked question by many Muslim woman!

See the clear and simple answer!

" Dear Muslim sister! Come towards the gates of Paradise with us! Fulfill your duties towards Allaah, put on your adornment - put on your hijaab, and race towards Jannah (Paradise) by doing all good actions. "

This is a good question and there is a beautiful answer! Allaah has commanded us with every action that is good for us and prohibited us from performing every action that is bad for us. Allaah orders the Muslim woman to wear the hijaab when she steps out of the security of her home or when in the presence of strange men. So to wear the hijaab is a source of great good for you – the Muslim woman - for many reasons. Among them:

You please Allaah. You are obeying the commands of your Lord when you wear the hijaab and you can expect great rewards in return.

It is Allaah’s protection of your natural beauty. You are too precious to be "on display" for each man to see.

It is Allaah’s preservation of your chastity.

Allaah purifies your heart and mind through the hijaab.

Allaah beautifies your inner and outer countenance with hijaab. Outwardly your hijaab reflects innocence, purity, modesty, shyness, serenity, contentment and obedience to your Lord. Inwardly you cultivate the same.

Allaah defines your femininity through the hijaab. You are a woman who respects her womanhood. Allaah wants you to be respected by others, and for you to respect yourself.

Allaah raises your dignity through the hijaab. When a strange man looks at you, he respects you because he sees that you respect yourself.

Allaah protects your honour 100% through your hijaab. Men do not gaze at you in a sensual way, they do not approach you in a sensual way, and neither do they speak to you in a sensual way. Rather, a man holds you in high esteem and that is just by one glance at you!

Allaah gives you nobility through the hijaab. You are noble not degraded because you covered not naked.

Allaah demonstrates your equality as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. Your Lord bestows upon you equal worth as your male counterpart, and gives you a host of beautiful rights and liberties. You express your acceptance of these unique rights by putting on the hijaab.

Allaah defines your role as a Muslim woman through the hijaab. You are a someone with important duties. You are a reflection of a woman of action not idle pursuits. You display your sense of direction and purpose through your hijaab. You are someone that people take seriously.

Allaah expresses your independence through the hijaab. You are stating clearly that you are an obedient servant of the Greatest Master. You will obey no one else and follow no other way. You are not a slave to any man, nor a slave to any nation. You are free and independent from all man-made systems.

Allaah gives you the freedom of movement and expression through the hijaab. You are able to move about and communicate without fear of harassment. Your hijaab gives you a unique confidence.

Allaah wants others to treat you – a Muslim woman - with kindness. And the hijaab brings about the best treatment of men towards you.

Allaah wants your beauty to be preserved and saved for just one man to enjoy – your husband.

Allaah helps you to enjoy a successful marriage through wearing hijaab. Because you reserve your beauty for one man alone, your husband’s love for you increases, he cherishes you more, he respects you more and he honours you more. So your hijaab contributes to a successful and lasting marriage relationship.

Allaah brings about peace and stability in the society through the hijaab! Yes this is true! Men do not cause corruption by forming illegal relationships because you - the Muslim woman - calm their passions. When a man looks at you, he feels at ease, not tempted to fornicate…

So a Muslim woman in hijaab is dignified, not dishonoured, noble, not degraded, liberated, not subjugated, purified, not sullied, independent, not a slave, protected, not exposed, respected, not laughed at, confident, not insecure, obedient, not a sinner, a guarded pearl, not a prostitute…

Dear Muslim sister! Come towards the gates of Paradise with us! Fulfill your duties towards Allaah, put on your adornment - put on your hijaab, and race towards Jannah (Paradise) by doing all good actions. You should agree by now that wearing hijaab is extremely beneficial – it must be - because Allaah only commands what is good…

…and believe me dear sister, it is good to obey the commands of your Lord…

"Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow wherein they will dwell for ever; Allaah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him; this is (in store) for whoever fears his Lord." [Sooratul-Bayyinah 98:8]

The truthful man from Holland

The Story of a man who is truthful from Holland.

He was a 26-year-old Christian from Holland. One day, he changed his dress to thobes, a burnoose, grew a beard, and the people started calling him “the one who looks like Jesus.”

One day, he met some Muslims, and he said to them, “I love Jesus.” And the Muslims told him, “We also love Jesus, and it is even a condition of Islam. We love Jesus and Moses.”

So this man tried imitating Jesus, helping others when he could, cutting their lawns and the like. After two years, he entered the mosque [the Muslims' place of worship] for the first time, and he was greeted with “ahlan” [which means welcome, and thus was not greeted with the greeting reserved for Muslims "as-salaamu 'alaykum" (which means: may peace and safety be upon you on the Day of Judgement)].

He said, “no; I want to be a Muslim.”

Then, the Muslims witnessed his testimony (pronounced “shahada”) – there is none deserving of worship except Allaah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and Jesus is His servant and Messenger – taught him the basics, and taught him how to pray. He began praying in congregation with them, not missing a single congregation. Then one day, he noticed that the other Muslims were arriving at the mosque after him, so he asked for a key to the mosque. And he was given one.

The Muslims then observed that not only was he opening the mosque, but additionally he was routinely found in optional prayer whenever they entered the mosque for the dawn prayer. [They would enter and find him already engaged in the worship of Allaah.]

Then one day, he told the Muslims how he decided to become Muslim. He said he had a dream about Jesus (the son of Mary), and Jesus said to him, “Be Muslim. Be Muslim. Be Muslim.” He said, “I woke up, and a few days later, I had the same dream. This happened three times.”

[The shaikh interjected and said, this is success from Allaah.]

So after having prayed for 20 days with the other Muslims, he died.

What Is Salafiyyah?

What Is Salafiyyah?
Question:

What is As-Salafiyyah and what is your opinion regarding it?
Answer:

All praise is due to Allaah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger, his family and his Companions.

To proceed:

"As-Salafiyyah" is an attachment or affiliation to the 'Salaf'. And "The Salaf" are the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wassallam) and the Imaams of guidance (may Allaah be pleased with them) from the first three generations, those whose goodness Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) bore witness to in his statement:

"The best of mankind is my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come people where bearing witness of one of them will precede his taking an oath and his taking an oath will be his bearing witness."

[Reported by Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal in the 'Musnad', 'Al-Bukhaaree', and Muslim]*

And "The Salafiyyoon [or Salafees]" is the plural of "Salafi", an attachment or affiliation to the Salaf, and its meaning has already preceded above - and they are those who traverse upon the Methodology (Manhaj) of the Salaf in following the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah [of the Messenger of Allaah], and inviting to them, and acting upon them, and they are, due to this, Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah.

Five Different Levels..Which Level Are U?

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمالله) said:
And mankind, with regard to their performance of prayer are in five levels:

The First: The level of the one who is negligent and wrongs his soul: He is the one who falls short in performing wudoo properly,
performing the prayer upon its time and within its specified limits, and in fulfilling its essential pillars.

The Second: The one who guards his prayers upon their proper times and within their specified limits,
fulfills their essential pillars and performs his wudoo with care. However, his striving (in achieving the above)
is wasted due whisperings in his prayer so he is taken away by thoughts and ideas.

The Third: The one who guards his prayers within the specified limits, fulfills their essential pillars
and strives with himself to repel the whisperings, thoughts and ideas. He is busy struggling against
his enemy shaytan so that he does not steal from the prayer. On account of this he is engaged in
(both) prayer and jihad.

The Fourth: The one who stands for the prayer, completes and perfects its due rights, its essential pillars,
performs it within its specified limits and his heart becomes engrossed in safeguarding its rights and specified
limits, so that nothing is wasted from it. His whole concern is directed towards its establishment, its completion
and its perfection, as it should be. His heart is immersed in the prayer and in enslavement to his Lord the Exalted.

The Fifth: The one who stands for the prayer like the one mentioned above. However, on top of this, he has taken
and placed his heart in front of his Lord (عز وجل), looking towards Him with his heart with anticipation, (his heart) filled
with His love and His might, as if he sees and witnesses Allah. The whisperings, thoughts and ideas have vanished and
the coverings which are between him and his Lord are raised. What is between this person and others with respect to
the prayer, is superior and greater than what is between the heavens and the earth. This person is busy with his Lord
(عز وجل), delighted with Him.

The First type will be punished,
the second type will be held to account,
the third will have his sins and shortcomings expiated,
the fourth will be rewarded and
the fifth will be close to his Lord, because he will receive the portion of the
one who makes his prayer the delight and pleasure of his eye. Whoever makes his prayer,the delight and pleasure of his
eye, will have the nearness to his Lord (عز وجل) made the delight and pleasure of his eye in the hereafter. He will also be
made a pleasure to the eye in this world since whoever makes Allah the pleasure of his eye in this world, every other eye
will become delighted and pleased with him.
So, what level are you?

25 suggestions to add to your life

1. Start off each day with 'azkar al-istiyqaz' (waking up supplications), thanking Allah for waking up in good shape.

2. Put Allah (swt) and then Prophet Mohammad (saw) before anything else in your life.

3. Broaden your horizons-learn 5 New verses from the Quran, travel to pray the Fajr in the mosque to brighten your day, take up a booklet having azkar-alsaba 7 (morning supplications) and read them.

4. Pray Salat Al-duha (after sunrise) and also the remaining 4 obligatory salaat of the day.

5. If someone says something mean to you, just shrug it off and dismiss it in a friendly, laidback manner, and pray that Allah shall forgive him or her. They will probably get the message that they're not triggering your anger and they will stop.

6. When you get angry, remember Allah, and how short and worthless life is to waste in being Angry.

7. Remember that you can never have too many friends, but you can have few quality friends that help you fulfil the purpose of your creation (i.e live for Allah.)

8. When you're happy, try to share your happiness with others thank Allah for that, and pray its continuation.

9. When something bad or embarrassing happens to you, just think that it could always be worse, remember the reward of patience, and thank Allah that it's not worse than it is.

10. Do something extra of goodness once in a while, like feeding a poor person, or caressing an orphan's head.

11. Never stop believing that you can win Allah's love and thus work for it. Then you can win the love of Allah's slaves.

12. Spend some time thinking of Allah's amazing creation.

13. Always love those who love Allah unconditionally. This way you will ensure that you live for Him, love for Him, and hate for Him (those who are enemies of Him)

14. Find the righteous ways to express yourself, and if you think that what you are about to say shall cause no benefit, maintain silence (this is tough!)

15. Every now and then, give yourself a break. play sports, give time to your family, friends, but always remember Allah and watch that He is watching you (Ihsan).

16. Pray for blessings to come to your enemies, and pray Allah to guide them to the right path.

17. Show love to your parents and always obey them (except orders that are against Islam, which they'll never do) especially to your mother as Junnah is under the feet of your mother.

18. Smile to everyone, for your smile makes a big difference to them and you are rewarded.

19. Forgive, forget and smile.

20. Tears are not for women only... tears are for all human beings with feelings remaining in them. Don't restrain your tears when remembering Allah.

21. When people criticize your actions and effort, revise your actions and see if they please Allah or not. If they do, then ignore those criticism and remember how the Prophet(s) and the Sahaba (ra) were criticized, made fun of and even physically harmed, so have patience.

22. Read the Quran daily and try to have a schedule for completing it every month (or as much as you could) as long as you open the Quran daily, and read with observing, try to understand and traansform them into action, not just passing your eyes through the words.

23. Don't let popularity go to your head, for it never lasts and you may lose from it more than gain.

24. Never look down on anybody, for they may be better than you in Allah's eyes.
25. After praying the salaatul Isha and before going to bed ask yourself whether you have gained some points for the day or are you loosing. Make repentance for things you have done wrong and think of ways to improve yourself in the following day.

In regards to the length of heaven, it is mentioned that the space, whicheven the lowest member of the heaven will get in Paradise, will be equalto ten times the area of the world. Imagine the space allowed in the highestlevel of Paradise (Jannah).

There is a tree in heaven whose shadow spreads so far and wide, that a rider would travel on for a hundred years and yet would not cross the extent of that tree.

Heaven consists of a HUNDRED levels. Between each two levels there is a distance equal to the space between the sky and the earth. Firdawsis the name of the top most level of Heaven. Above it is the abode of Allah. Whenever asking anything from Allah, we should ask for Jannat-ul-Firdaws (admittance into the highest abode of heaven just below theThrone of the Almighty). Each faithful shall have a tent made of a pearl; itslength will be sixty miles. The abode of Paradise shall be built of bricks of gold and silver. And who shall ever enter this mansion will live in peace andcomfort.That person will never know death, nor will his dress wear off,nor his youth ever wither.

The greatest pleasure that a person can have in heaven is to meet his creator, Allah. Such will be the estate of even the lowliest heavenly person.Allah will ask this person "What does thou want?" and the person shall begranted double of what he/she desires.
