Hardness of the Heart‏

The 'Abd is never afflicted with punishment more severe than hardness of the heart and being away from Allaah Subhanahu wa ta'aala. An-Naar (Hellfire) was created to melt the hard hearts. The more distant of hearts are the hard ones. When the heart hardens the eye becomes dry. The hardness of the heart stems from exaggeration in four things: eating, sleeping, talking, and socializing. As when the body becomes sick, eating and drinking cannot cure it; if the heart becomes sick with desires, preaching cannot help it.   Whoever seeks to purify his heart let him favour Allaah over his desires. The hearts are the vessels of Allaah Subhanahu wa ta'aala on His earth. The most beloved to Him are those that are most soft, most strong and most pure.   They occupy their hearts with ad-Dunyaa (the world). If they occupied them with Allaah and al-Aakhirah their hearts would wonder in the meanings of His words and His clear signs. Then their hearts would return to them with marvelous

Can you stand 40mins straight?‏

Yaa 'Ibadullaah! I have a question if I told you that if you stand for at least 40mins straight with full concentration and not letting anything disturb your standing, that you would get all the riches your heart could desire, would you do it? I mean, you'd get a big mansion, gold, silver, servants, everything, just by standing for 40 mins straight! I'm sure many of us would do so. Yaa 'Ibadullaah! May Allaah have mercy on you, indeed there is a promise similar to this in truth, and comes from the Most Truthful, Allaah ta'aala, "And who is truer in statement than Allaah?"[1] But with Allaah, He is most Merciful! He's ordained that we pray our 5 salawat throughout the day which would normally take 5-7mins per salaat, which shouldn't be more than 40 mins put together, bi'idhnillaahi subhana. And let us look to what Allaah Jala wa 'Ala has promised  "And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (
